Support Groups
August 5, 2009
The Longmont Christian Homeschool Co-op is comprised of several smaller support groups. The success of each small group depends on its members. The Co-op encourages support, friendships, field trips/activities, and monthly meetings through the small groups. In turn, the small groups provide support to the Co-op for the large group activities, events, and Co-op positions.
Individuals wishing to join the Co-op will be given information on Co-op support groups that will best fit their needs. It is up to the individual to choose a support group and let the Co-op know of their decision.
Support Group Descriptions
The Support Groups listed below are a part of the Longmont Christian Homeschool Co-op, which does not require signing a Statement of Faith to become a member but does expect ALL members to respect the fact that this is a Christian group. The Support Groups are established by Co-op members, and each group operates with different guidelines. Please be sure to ask the Group Contact if you want information on any of the groups. These descriptions are a starting point for finding a group that is right for your family. For some people, these descriptions are all they need to make their decision. For other families, more information may be helpful. If you need more information about joining or starting a group, you can .
If you have narrowed your choices to one or two groups and are unsure about committing to a group without more information, you are encouraged to contact the group(s) and arrange to attend a group activity. Note: You may join more than one Support Group. Once you have chosen a group, please notify the Group Contact of your decision to join their group.

FOUNDATIONS
We are a group of Christian families with at least one child in the birth to kindergarten age- range. (Many of us have older children too.) We desire to support one another as we seek the Lord's direction during the foundation-building years of our children (Luke 6:46-49). We are either already homeschooling or are considering homeschooling in the future. We meet primarily in the morning hours at least once a month, with an occasional “Mom's Night Out” as well. Families in the support group are encouraged to organize activities for the group as they feel led to do so, however, there are no membership requirements. Currently 10 families, no limit.Group status: OPEN

SEEKING FRIENDS
We are a group of Christian homeschooling families that desire to provide a community for our kids from which to find friends and to keep friends. We meet the second and fourth Fridays of the month from 2:00pm - 4:00pm during the school year. Those members who are interested sign up to be responsible for a month's e-mails and activities. As weather permits, we meet at Sandstone Ranch Park. On wintery days we may swim, have a field trip, or meet at someone's house depending on the choice of the mom at that time. Mom's Night Out will begin in September and will continue on the third Thursday night of each month. Most of our kids range in age from kindergarten through sixth grade, but we are open to all ages. There are no membership requirements. Currently 40 families, no limit.Group status: OPEN

These people receive the newsletter and Co-op e-mails only, are considered inactive members, and do not participate in Co-op activities. If at a future time a person wants to participate in an activity, please join a support group by contacting the Application Processor so the database may be kept current.Contact: Current Application Processor (Robyn Ramsey)
UNDECIDED
Sometimes finding a group that is right for you and your family may take a little time, as you may wish to attend an activity of one or more groups first. If you are in the process of finding a group but wish to send your application and fee in so that you can begin getting the Co-op newsletter and e-mail, please put "undecided" in the space for "Support Group Name". After choosing a group, please notify the Group contact with your decision and the application processsor to keep the database current. You must make a decision within 90 days or you will be considered a nonmember.Contact: Current Application Processor (Robyn Ramsey)
Group Responsibilities
The Co-op requires the following responsibilities of each small group: Group Representative, Group Contact Person, and a completed guideline form (to be provided.) This guideline form helps the Co-op understand the structure of each small group. Each support group leader, which includes the Group Representative, the Group Contact Person, and Group Leader if applicable, must sign the LCHC Statement of Faith.
Established small groups are encouraged to join the Co-op. Each member must pay the membership fee in order to receive the newsletter and participate in Co-op functions. A Co-op representative is available to meet with your established small group if more information is needed. A group consists of two or more families.
